about

The first step in the creative journey begins with the search for the next idea or concept for a painting. From the outside, it often appears as though artists spend too much time seemingly wandering around aimlessly. In fact, it is this exploration of the landscape and the collecting visual inventory that is a very important part of creating the next one hit wonder.

As a self-taught painter in watercolour, there has always been a strong intrinsic reward associated with producing a painting and the self-satisfaction of knowing I have created an original piece of fine art.

My thoughts around watercolour painting always go out to my friend and fellow artist the late great Jack Reid who will forever be remembered as a master in the art of watercolour painting.
